R\u00e9Solve exploite un syst\u00e8me int\u00e9gr\u00e9 de cog\u00e9n\u00e9ration \u00e0 partir de biomasse, \u00e9galement appel\u00e9 production combin\u00e9e de chaleur et d'\u00e9lectricit\u00e9, qui transforme les r\u00e9sidus forestiers en vapeur et en \u00e9lectricit\u00e9 renouvelable, fournissant ainsi une puissance de base fiable 24 heures sur 24, 7 jours sur 7, au r\u00e9seau d'Hydro-Qu\u00e9bec. Contrairement aux sources renouvelables intermittentes telles que l'\u00e9nergie solaire ou \u00e9olienne, la cog\u00e9n\u00e9ration (production combin\u00e9e de chaleur et d'\u00e9lectricit\u00e9) fournit une source d'\u00e9nergie propre, stable et disponible qui soutient les op\u00e9rations industrielles continues et renforce la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique r\u00e9gionale.<\/p>

Pour chaque tonne de biomasse foresti\u00e8re convertie en \u00e9thanol de deuxi\u00e8me g\u00e9n\u00e9ration et en granul\u00e9s de lignine, l'unit\u00e9 de cog\u00e9n\u00e9ration produit environ 2,4 m\u00e9gawattheures (MWh) d'\u00e9lectricit\u00e9 renouvelable et 3,0 MWh d'\u00e9nergie thermique utilisable sous forme de vapeur. L'entreprise ne consomme qu'environ 3 % de l'\u00e9lectricit\u00e9 produite pour ses propres activit\u00e9s, exportant les 97 % restants \u00e0 Hydro-Qu\u00e9bec, ce qui lui permet d'assurer un rendement \u00e9conomique maximal et une perte d'\u00e9nergie minimale gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 une conversion efficace.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Du point de vue du bilan carbone, notre cog\u00e9n\u00e9ration est peu \u00e9mettrice de carbone et ne contribue pas au r\u00e9chauffement climatique. La mati\u00e8re premi\u00e8re provient du cycle actif du carbone, contrairement aux combustibles fossiles qui lib\u00e8rent du carbone stock\u00e9 depuis longtemps. Par cons\u00e9quent, la production d'\u00e9lectricit\u00e9 neutre en carbone de l'entreprise r\u00e9duit consid\u00e9rablement les \u00e9missions tout au long du cycle de vie.<\/p>

Au-del\u00e0 de la r\u00e9duction des \u00e9missions, la cog\u00e9n\u00e9ration \u00e0 partir de la biomasse offre des avantages strat\u00e9giques pour le mix \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique renouvelable du Qu\u00e9bec. Comme la production est ind\u00e9pendante des conditions m\u00e9t\u00e9orologiques, elle compl\u00e8te le r\u00e9seau hydro\u00e9lectrique de la province et assure un approvisionnement de secours fiable pendant les pics de demande. Le Qu\u00e9bec exploite d\u00e9j\u00e0 plusieurs installations de cog\u00e9n\u00e9ration \u00e0 partir de la biomasse qui fonctionnent avec succ\u00e8s, ce qui d\u00e9montre la maturit\u00e9 technique de la province, ses politiques favorables et son infrastructure de r\u00e9seau pour l'int\u00e9gration de nouvelles capacit\u00e9s d'\u00e9nergie propre.<\/p>
